At one point in my life, i was kinda frustrated why my name was so androgynous...i used to introduce
myself to poeple and instead of a handshake or return introduction, they say something like, "Sidney,
isn't it a girl's name???", or worse, something corny like ,"Sidney huh, well, i'm Perth/Melbourne/Brisbane/Australia/Sheldon..." I'm not so irritated by it as much as in the past now, but please dont try it...but then again, anyone who visits this webby probably knoes me and those who dont may very well be somewhere further than a 48km radius, so i guess this kinda defeats the purpose of telling people not to introduce themselves as.....why am i saying this?!?! |

| for those of you who arent singaporeans, you'll from time to time find words un'understandable... dont worry, your levels of english are not inadequete, those phrases are actually a variation of english we call 'Singlish', a sorta slang that has emerged in singapore that is a fusion of our cultures that form an english that includes grammatical mistakes, improper sentence construction, and elements from malay, hokkien, mandarin, cantonese, tamil, and some other languages spoken by our cosmopolitan country....am i long-winded or what??? |
